One Tockay gecko snake wasrecovered in Silsako area of North Guwahati from GMDA swimming pool on Mondaynight.
Trainner Lambodar Dekarecovered the rare gecko while cleaning the swimming pool area on Monday night.
The gecko was later handed over to the forest officials.
"It is a rare species of snake and when I discovered it in the premises, I was a little surprised. It is a beautiful creature. Immediately I called the forest officials and handed it over to them before smugglers and illegal peddlers could put a hand over it," Deka said.
