UP Police Raise Vikash Dubey’s Reward from Rs. 2.5L to Rs. 5L

The Uttar Pradesh police have raised the reward from Rs. 2.5 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh on fugitive gangster Vikash Dubey's head encounter. This comes hours after police raided a hotel in Faridabad where Dubey was spotted. Dubey managed to escape before the police reached him.

As the police chase intensified with teams inspecting several areas around Delhi, including Gurugram, Faridabad, the police have now raised the reward on his head to Rs 5 lakh.

Two days ago, the bounty on Vikas Dubey was increased to Rs 2.5 lakh.

"Cash reward for the arrest of Vikas Dubey has been increased to Rs 5 lakh. It would be given to those providing information about him," Additional Chief Secretary, Awanish Kumar Awasthi said.

A close aide of Vikas Dubey, identified as Amar Dubey, was killed in an encounter in Hamirpur on Wednesday by the Uttar Pradesh STF that is investigating the case.

Both Vikas Dubey and Amar Dubey were involved in the killing of 8 police personnel during an encounter in Kanpur last week. The gangster and his accomplices ambushed the police team and killed 8 cops, including a DSP.

Police arrested another associate of the gangster on Wednesday in an encounter in Chaubeypur area. Vikas Dubey's aide Shyamu Bajpai was arrested after an encounter with police in Chaubeypur area. Bajpai, carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 sustained bullet injury on his leg.

The sensational killings sent shockwaves across the country and a massive manhunt with over 25 police teams have been launched to nab Vikas Dubey who has been on the run since last week.
