‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ re-releases in Maharashtra

Vicky Kaushal's 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' which won thehearts of millions of fans is scheduled for re-release on Friday, on theoccasion of Kargil Vijay Divas.

Vicky Kaushal had posted a heartwarming note on the re-release of his blockbuster 'Uri: the Surgical Strike' on Kargil Vijay Divas across Maharashtra.

Vicky Kaushal had posted a heartwarming note on Tweeter that he is 'Happy and Honoured' and thanked the state government for their support and is happy to have his film re-release in theatres on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas. He also shared that 'Uri' will be screened in 500 theatres across Maharashtra.

It earned over Rs 240 crores at the box office and iscurrently the second highest-grossing film of 2019.

Meanwhile, the film's director Aditya Dhar commented onVicky's post saying that a particular show is free of cost for all studentsbetween the age of 18-25 years.

Bollywood celebrities from Amitabh Bachchan to Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to salute the courage and bravery of Indian armed forces, who engaged in some of the fiercest battles to take back the high-altitude posts captured by Pakistan in Operation Vijay. Indian army has said that this year the day will be celebrated with the theme, 'Remember, Rejoice and Renew'.

Sidharth Malhotra, who is playing Kargil martyr Captain Vikram Batra in his next film Shershaah, also took to twitter to pay his respect to the soldiers. He tweeted, "Salute to our braveheart soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the honor, integrity, and people of India. I feel privileged to be portraying one such character in #Shershaah Jai Hind #KargilVijayDivas."

Akshay Kumar shared a video of soldiers who has become the poster boy of patriotic films in the Hindi film industry, urged people to not forget the contribution of our armed forces in safeguarding our lives. "May we never forget our soldiers whose courage and heroism lets us live in peace, day after day," he tweeted.

On Thursday, the actor also shared a video of a soldier singing his version of Kesari song "Teri Mitti", which is a tribute to every soldier who puts his country before everyone else.

Sharing the video, Kumar wrote, "Came across thisheart-warming video which made my day. When your small tribute reaches thepeople it's meant for…what more can you ask for? A million salutes to our#BharatKeVeer"
