US says India is a key ally in Indo-Pacific region

The Trump Administration has said that India is a key supporter of American efforts to ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

Senior Policy advisor to the US Secretary of State, Brian Hook praised India's support of US efforts ahead of the announcement by the US initiatives for development and economic assistance in the entire region.

Hook said that India and the US, apart from working bilaterally, are also on the same wave length as Japan, Australia and South Korea, to advance their shared vision of the Indo-Pacific. He also said that India and the US share enduring interests which are rooted in shared democratic values, as they are the world's largest and oldest democracies.

"India is a key partner in our efforts to ensure that the entire Indo Pacific region is a region of peace, stability and growing prosperity. We work very closely with India," Hook said.

The United States of America held the first Indo-Pacific Business Forum on Monday.
