Vajpayee’s cremated remains immersed in Arunachal

After Guwahati in Assam, the ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been immersed at Parshuram Kunda in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday. Asthi Kalash were brought to Itanagar on Thursday by State BJP President Tapir Gao.

According to reports, State BJP President Tapir Gao and Dy Chief Minister Chowna Mein had taken the urn containing Atal Bihari Vajpayee's cremated remains to Parshuram Kunda.

Before going to the place of immersion, the urn was taken to Pasighat for well-wishers to pay their last tributes, informed BJP sources.

It was taken to State BJP headquarters where party leaders and several BJP MLAs paid floral tributes to the departed leader. Later, the Asthi kalash was taken to Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre where a condolence meeting was organised by the state government in memory of the former Prime Minister.

Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minster Chowna Mein, state Ministers, senior BJP leaders and leaders from opposition parties attended the condolence meeting and paid homage.
