“We’ll revive CAB if voted to power again”- Amit Shah

Amit Shah on Sunday said that if the BJP comes back to power again, would revive the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

Addressing a rally in Lakhimpur, BJP president Amit Shah said that the BJP government would not compromise on any security issue. Slamming the Congress party and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), Shah said both the parties did nothing to implement the Assam Accord despite ruling most of the period since signing of the accord in 1985.

"We will not allow Assam to become another Kashmir. That's why we are working on NRC. We are committed to the development of the entire Northeast which is why the Congress has been wiped out of the region," said Amit Shah.

"CAB will be brought about by PM Modi once again and we are committed to take it again. We will root out 'ghuspethis' from Assam," Shah said.

"It was not only for Northeast but for all refugees in the entire country. The way demography is changing in Assam, without the Citizenship Bill, the people of the state will be in big danger," he added.

The BJP president paid tributes to Moneswar Basumatary and other CRPF jawans who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack in his speech.
