After President’s Rule was imposed in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray hoped that a new political alliance between Shiv Sena, NCP, and the Congress will work out in the State. Thackeray said that if the BJP and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) could find a way to work together, it is possible in the current situation as well.
“We are from different ideologies but we can come together just like the BJP has done,” Thackeray said, while addressing the media on Tuesday evening. “The BJP and Shiv Sena were together for many years but now Shiv Sena has to go with the Congress-NCP. We’ll hold further talks with both of them,” he further added.
Meanwhile, addressing the media, senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel said that the Congress and the NCP have not committed to Shiv Sena yet. “The Congress-NCP are yet to discuss few issues; discussions with Sena will take place only after the issues are sorted out,” Patel said Tuesday evening.
