The Congress is staring at a credibility crisis following its poor performance in the last Lok Sabha elections, particularly when it comes to taking on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Ripun Bora on Sunday said that “Congress is not worried at Bhubaneswar Kalita, Sanjay Singh’s and other leaders resignation.”
Addressing a press conference Bora denied any erosion in the oldest party of the country.
“Old Congress workers’ resignation always provides a platform to new blood which will strengthen the party more.” Bora said.
“Congress, the oldest party of India, faced various difficulties at different courses of time. But, it again stood up with more strength,” Bora added.
It may be mentioned that the Lok Sabha results are a poor reflection on party president Rahul Gandhi’s leadership capabilities, besides the Congress’ election strategy to take on the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
