Popular Bangladesh actor Hero Alom has been arrested by the police for allegedly beating his wife. Hours after his wife filed a complaint in a police station in Bangladesh, alleging that Hero Alom has physically tortured her for dowry, the police on Wednesday arrested the actor.

Ashraful Alom Saeed is popularly known as Hero Alom among his fans. The director, actor, dancer, producer and actor is a popular target of online trolling and a subject of memes in Indian sub-continent.

Notably, Alom had contested the December 30 national poll as an independent candidate from Bogura-4 and later boycotted the elections midway alleging voting irregularities.
