The Thai Cave Rescue is now believed to possibly be the subject of not one, but two Hollywood big screen adaptations. Two competing movie-makers are reportedly seeking screen-rights to the dramatic mission.

Pure Flix Entertainment had announced that they are seeking the movie rights for the Thai Cave Rescue operation, following which 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' and 'Step Up 3D' director Jon M Chu tweeted against the whitewashing of the 'beautiful story'.

"I refuse to let Hollywood #whitewashout the Thai Cave rescue story! No way. Not on our watch. That won't happen or we'll give them hell. There is a beautiful story abt human beings saving other human beings. So anyone thinking abt the story better approach it right & respectfully," he posted.

According to the Hollywood magazine Variety, Ivanhoe Pictures and Jon M Chu are also considering to team up for the movie. Ivanhoe and Chu recently collaborated for the upcoming rom-com 'Crazy Rich Asians'.

The rescue was carried out in the Tham Luang cave when a young football team was trapped four km inside the cave and the exit routes were flooded. The boys are currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.
