Under the 'Speaker's Initiative' Programme, the Assam Legislative Assembly has organised its second Internship Programme for young talents of the state under the 'Speaker's Initiative programme from July 1.

The Internship has been aimed to provide opportunity to the young talents to acquaint themselves with the working of parliamentary democracy practised in the Assam Legislative Assembly so that young talents could be motivated to take serious interest in the parliamentary democratic process of the state for continuation of a more healthy & vibrant democracy in the days to come.
Duration : One month.
- Eligibility : (i) Applicants must be students from the Under-graduate level to the Post-Graduate classes. (ii) Age of applicants should be between 18 years and 25 years as on January 1, 2019. (iii) Applications must submit a 'Recommendation cum No Objection Certificate' from the Head of the Institution/Head of the Department where he or she is currently studying. (iv) Applicants must submit a resume and a write-up not exceeding 300 words as to why he or she intends to join the Internship Programme. (v) The Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat reserves the right to cancel the Internship awarded to an applicant at any stage without assigning any reason thereof.
- Stipend and other facilities: (i) Each selected candidate will be offered a stipend of Rs.5.000 for the period of internship, which will be disbursed on successful completion of the Internship Programme. (ii) The Assembly Secretariat will provide free accommodation and food to outstation candidates while those from Guwahati will be provided free refreshment during the daytime. (iii) No Travelling Allowance will be provided for the to and fro travel of the selected candidates. (iv) Interns will be given a Certificate of Participation on successful completion of the Internship Programme.
- Applications accompanied by relevant educational qualifications, current course of study and other documents as mentioned above must reach the office of the undersigned before 4 PM of June 20, 2019.
