Assam registered another four deaths of COVID-19 on Wednesday morning, twitted State Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The toll of Assam COVID-19 now stands at 20.
The minister in his tweet wrote, "My heartfelt condolences to families and relatives of four more victims of #COVID19."
"These are trying times, and we all must adhere to guidelines being repeatedly given – wearing mask, social distance and not going out unless very important," he tweeted.
The deceased have been identified as Safikul Rahman (60), Hadeyatpur, Romoni Mazumdar (60), Patacharkuchi, Barpeta, Utpal Kumar Chaliha (75), Kahilipara, Guwahati, Hari Prasad Mandal (68), Lal Ganesh, Guwahati.
The deceased were under treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) ICU and succumbed to the disease at around in the wee hours of Wednesday between 2 AM to 5 AM.
The minister informed that they were in invasive ventilation, had severe pneumonia, urosepsis and septic shock.
