The flood situation in Assam remains grim as the state reports 23 human lives lost so far in this year’s deluge.
As of July 8, 2025, 32,376 people have been affected in 169 villages across six districts, according to the latest flood bulletin released by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
The rivers Dhansiri (South) in Golaghat and Numaligarh continue to flow above the danger level, raising alarm in low-lying areas. However, no rivers are currently reported to be flowing above the highest flood level.
The most severely affected district is Golaghat, where 85 villages across five revenue circles - Morongi, Golaghat, Khumtai, Sarupathar, and Bokakhat, are inundated.
Other districts impacted include:
Hojai: 34 villages (Doboka and Hojai revenue circles)
Karbi Anglong: 28 villages (Phuloni, Silonijan, Diphu)
Nagaon: 16 villages (Kampur)
Jorhat: 4 villages (Titabor)
Sivasagar: 2 villages (Nazira)
As per the latest data, a total of 17,704 flood-affected individuals are currently receiving aid at various relief distribution centres, though they are not staying in relief camps. Among them, there are 7,627 males, 6,320 females, and 3,757 children. The Golaghat district remains the most affected, with 13,327 non-camp beneficiaries, distributed across various revenue circles.
