Assam registered 40 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, taking the state's tally to 4158, informed state Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Sarma in his tweet said, "Alert ~ 40 new #COVID19+ cases reported. 31 Jorhat, 3 Dhemaji, 2 Biswanath, 2 Dhubri, 1 Lakhimpur, 1 Dibrugarh."

With the new cases, Assam has now 2187 active cases while 1960 patients have recovered from the disease.
It may bementioned the number of COVID-19 cases in the state is rising at an alarmingrate.
