Bobby Sarma Baruah’s Mishing to be screened at KIFF

Assamese filmmaker Bobby Sarma Baruah's latest movie, Mishing (The Apparition), a film made in the Sherdukpen dialect of Arunachal Pradesh, will be screened in the competition section of the ongoing 24th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) on Thursday.

Based on Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi's Assamese novel of the same title, the film is produced by Sulakshana Barua. Director of the film, Bobby Sarma Baruah, will be present during the film's screening at the Nandan 2 theatre in Kolkata.

According to Baruah, that she found the novel very interesting and decided to make a film by trying to script the story in a creative manner without losing the essence of the novel.

Her film will also feature in the competition section of the 23rd International Film Festival of Kerala to be held from December 7 to December 13.
