MP Lok Sabha Naba Kumar Saraniya had also met the governor and asked centre to review the UTC issue through Mukhi.
The organizations and the MP have demanded to withdraw the centre's reported move to grant Union Territorial Council (UTC) status to Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) and also urged to seize the illegal arms of BTAD.

It may be mentioned that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a Bodo tripartite talks in New Delhi on November 19.

However, ABSU president Promod Boro speaking on the issue said, "The UTC debate is nothing but an ill designed and fabricated news, there is no official statement made either from the government of India or from the movement groups (ABSU, NDFB-P and PJACBM). It is totally baseless and no authenticity. It is observed that some of the media highlighted it without any authentic source."
