CAB: Black flag waved at Sonowal in Kaliabor

Black flags were waved at Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Kaliabor on Sunday afternoon. The members of AJYCP waved the black flags as the convoy of the chief minister made its way to the Dhriti Barttana Mahotsav.

Later,both the youths were apprehended by the police from the spot, as they continuedshouting slogans against the chief minister and the government.

Theprotest was against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), which seeks to grantIndian nationality to Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, Christians, Buddhists and Jainsfrom Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Sonowal,who heads the BJP-led coalition government in the State, has been facingprotests by members of different organisations over the bill. Also, massmovements, led by students, youth and regional organisations, have beenbuilding up in the State against the Bill.

Earlier,CM Sonowal had to face black flag protest in front of the Assam House in NewDelhi.
