Flood dampens Puja spirit in Guwahati

Heavy rainfall on Tuesday morning brought life to a near standstill in Guwahati as several parts of the city were inundated by flash floods.

A spell of heavy shower flooded the road near Jorabat flyover in Guwahati on Tuesday, leading to a traffic snarl in the area. 

This is a common scene at the spot that witnesses such flash floods as and when it rains for 15-20 minutes or so. 

The local people say that clogged drains lead to such a situation there. This part, when it rains water comes from the Meghalaya side.
