‘Golden Needle’ tea sets record, sold at Rs. 75000 per kg

With Assam tea making headlines for quite a while now, today,in another proud moment for the Guwahati Tea Auction Center (GTAC), a singleline of 1.1 kg of 'Golden Needle' tea from Donyi Polo Tea Estate of ArunachalPradesh had been sold by the Contemporary Tea Brokers at a record price of Rs75000/- per kg in GTAC sale number 34

The Secretary of Guwahati Tea Auction Buyers Association (GTABA)Dinesh Bihani in an official statement said "The same tea estate had lastyear set a record when their tea was sold for Rs. 39000/- kg.

This teas are brought by Chattarsingh Narendra Kumar for itsClient Absolute Tea run by Jayant.

Jalan said, "We had bought Donyipolo Golden Needles andWorld Championship winning tea from Halmari in the past few years, the responsehas been superb with people loving the tea. We expect a similar response thisyear."  Our customers are fascinatedto drink speciality teas and are eager to know what the Industry is producing.

Satyanjoy Hazarika (Managing Director Tea) of ContemporaryBrokers, said, "The tea was made from the tips of selected clones byskilled artisans,Bihani further said that these teas do not drawthe real picture of the tea Industry  butthe Industry should appreciate these producers who are making top notch teasand are making a Name for Indian Tea Industry in the World"
