Govt official shot at Haflong

Inspector of the Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Department, Dima Hasao was shot by unidentified assailants at his office located near Haflong Government College on Saturday.

Reportedly, unidentified gunmen shot at the inspector of the Food, Civil Supply and Consumer department Rupom Dibragede, who sustained two bullets injuries in his chest, was rushed to Haflong Civil Hospital.

Though, his condition is stated to be stable, one bullet in still inside his body.

Local Organisations of Haflong strongly condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the culprits.

It may be mentioned that after an incident of kidnapping that took place 24 hours back where an old man was kidnapped from Owajo village in Maibang sub-division of Dima Hasao district, the incident of firing had taken place at Haflong on Saturday afternoon.
