Inyet another tragic incident, the infant, who was admitted in Gauhati MedicalCollege & Hospital (GMCH) following the death of his mother in the evictiondrive carried out by the Hojai District administration, has breathed his laston Friday.
According to reports, the mother of the infant was assaulted during the eviction drive carried out by the Hojai district administration in March. Identified as Kusuma Khatoon, the woman was pregnant during the eviction drive. Later, the woman was admitted to a hospital, where she gave birth to the baby and succumbed to her injuries.
On the other hand, her newborn was also admitted to a hospital in critical condition and later shifted to GMCH for further treatment. But on Friday the newborn was declared dead by the doctors of GMCH.
