Which Authority Issues Caste Certificates Online in India?

The issuance of caste certificates online is administered by various government officials across different states. In general, the authorities empowered to issue caste certificates include:

  • Sub-divisional officers and revenue officers holding at least the rank of tehsildar, either for the candidate or their family.

  • Other significant government officials such as the divisional Magistrate, Executive Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Collector, District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, First Class Stipendiary Magistrate, Taluka Magistrate, Additional Assistant Commissioner, Collector, and Deputy Collector.

  •  Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate, Chief Presidency Magistrate, or The Presidency Magistrate.

  • These officials, among others, are typically responsible for processing and issuing caste certificates based on the prescribed guidelines and regulations set forth by the respective state governments.
