Leader of Opposition in the Assam Legislative, Debabrat Saikia slammed Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on Monday and said that he is "Anti Hindu". Saikia said that only Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is supporting the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 whereas the other regional and indigenous organizations are opposing it.
Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan, Saikia said that the funds of many schemes announced by Modi Government are yet to be released. He also said that Modi is good at announcing schemes but bad at implementing it.
The Congress MLA from Nazira Constituency stated that Congress would continue their protest against the Citizenship Bill. He also took a jibe at Assam's Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and said that the ST status to six communities is a " political jhumla'.
Saikia also said that the corruption during BJP's regime has increased than that of Congresses
