Bomb Threat at Bombay Stock Exchange Turns Out to Be Hoax; Police Launch Investigation

The iconic Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in Mumbai received a bomb threat via email on Monday, triggering a swift and coordinated response from law enforcement agencies. However, after an extensive search operation, the threat was confirmed to be a hoax.

According to officials, the threat email was sent from an account bearing the name "Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan" and claimed that four RDX-laden IEDs had been planted inside the BSE tower, set to detonate at 3 PM. The BSE authorities immediately informed the police, prompting the rapid deployment of the local police force and the bomb disposal squad.

Bomb squad teams, along with Mumbai Police, arrived at the scene and conducted a meticulous sweep of the premises. After a thorough inspection, no suspicious objects or materials were found, and the threat was declared a false alarm.

A case has been registered at the Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Marg Police Station under sections 351(1)(b), 353(2), 351(3), and 351(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). An investigation is currently underway to trace the origin of the email and identify those responsible for the hoax.

Authorities have assured that all necessary protocols were followed and emphasized that hoax threats of this nature will be dealt with strictly under the law.
