New Delhi: Women Exempted from Odd-Even Scheme

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that women will be exempted from the odd-even road rationing scheme which is set to return in the national capital for the third time from November 4-15.

Thechief minister said that unlike previous occasions, privately owned CNGvehicles will not be exempted this time.

Speakingon the decision of exempting women from the scheme, Kejriwal said that womendriving alone, cars having all women as occupants and women accompanied bychildren aged less than 12 years will be exempted and the decision has beentaken keeping in mind their safety.

Kejriwalfurther stated that they are consulting experts on whether the two-wheelersshould be exempted from the scheme or not and the decision is yet to be taken.

Duringthe odd-even rationing scheme, vehicles with registration numbers ending in anodd number are allowed to be driven on odd number dates and those ending withan even number are allowed to be driven on even number dates.
