BangladeshPrime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are going toinaugurate three projects jointly on Saturday during the bilateral meetingbetween the two sides.
Thebilateral meeting between Hasina and Modi will take place at 11:30 am atHyderabad House followed by an official lunch at 1 pm. Prime Minister will callon India's President Ram Nath Kovind at 4:30 pm at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
MEASpokesperson, Raveesh Kumar, while speaking to media said that they expect thatabout 6-7 documents will be signed in the field of transport, connectivity,capacity building and culture. The two leaders will jointly inaugurate threeprojects which will be known after it gets signed, said Kumar.
During thetalks, the issue of Teesta water sharing and Rohingya will also come up. Sourcesin the Ministry said that the issue of NRC will not be the focus of the talks,the thrust would be on bilateral cooperation and enhancing of ties.
The sourcessaid that the NRC and the issue of illegal immigrants is a matter of concernfor Dhaka calling the NRC process as internal as of now according to Kumar.
The twosides will focus on trade, connectivity, development cooperation, culture andpeople-to-people ties.
ForBangladesh, Teesta water sharing is a critical issue. Ahead of the visit,Bangladesh's Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said while briefing media onWednesday in Dhaka, "All bilateral issues between Bangladesh and Indiawill be discussed during the meeting including framework agreement overallTrans-boundary rivers with Teesta Indian cooperation on Rohingya repatriationreducing border killing at zero."
PrimeMinister Hasina had also expressed concern regarding rising onion prices inIndia that impacted Bangladesh.
