Weather Systems in Play:

The current weather activity is attributed to the monsoon trough, which stretches from Bikaner to the northeast Bay of Bengal and extends upward with height. An upper air cyclonic circulation over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha and West Bengal is contributing to active monsoon conditions in the Northeast.

Additionally, a low-level cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam has weakened, while another trough from north Haryana to the Bay of Bengal is influencing widespread moisture inflow into the region.

Rainfall Observations (Last 24 Hours):

Rainfall between 1 to 4 cm was recorded at multiple locations, including:

  • Sataka (ARG), Chandel (KVK), Sonamura, Kampur, Mawsynram, Sohra, Tura, Imphal, Longding, Lawngtlai, Sipahijala, and Khawzawl

IMD Advisory:

The IMD has urged people in flood-prone and landslide-prone regions to take precautions and remain updated through official bulletins. Farmers, transporters, and outdoor workers are advised to plan activities accordingly.
