Being Sued, US Decides Not To Deport Foreign Students

Days after announcing that foreign students of courses going online due to the COVID-19 outbreak will have to leave the USA, the Trump Administration has now revoked the decision.

Under fire due to national outrage over the decision that was announced by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on July 6, the order stands null and void now.

This was informed by the Massachusetts District Court.

The move aimed at forcing the educational institutions to start physical classes notwithstanding the dangers of the pandemic was widely criticized by many educational institutions and top-notch companies like Facebook and Google.

Two of the Crème de la crème institutions including the Harvard University and the MIT had earlier sued the Trump Administration over the decision that would have impacted scores of foreign students, most of whom are from India and China.

These educational institutions had approached the Massachusetts District Court seeking an injunction to the July 6 order.
