Donald Trump exonerated of Russia connection

US President Donald Trump was exonerated of a Russia connection during the US Presidential election of 2016 ending a three-year-long hunt to find out whether Russia colluded to help US President Trump defeating Hillary Clinton.

Trump immediately hailed as a victory saying that dark cloud of suspicion finally had been lifted but he was also pointed that it was a humiliation on the Presidential election of the United States that a foreign country could be thought of influencing its result.

US Attorney General has appointed Robert Muller, a former FBI director, to look into the matter. He submitted the report on Friday.

"The Special Counsel's investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election," says the four-page summary by Attorney General William Barr.

The letter notes that Mueller's probe said no such conspiracy was found "despite multiple offers from Russia-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign."

"After a long look, after a long investigation, after so many people have been so badly hurt, after not looking at the other side, where a lot of bad things happened, a lot of horrible things happened for our country, it was just announced there was no collusion with Russia," the president said, declaring the findings "a complete and total exoneration."

"It's a shame that our country had to go through this, to be honest, it's a shame that your president has had to go through this," Trump said.
