US President Donald Trump was briefly evacuated out of a press event in White House by secret service agents after the guards shot down a person who was apparently armed.
Trump joined the press conference shortly and announced that someone had been shot outside the White House premises.
The Secret Service tweeted that it "can confirm there has been an officer involved shooting at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Ave," adding, "Law enforcement shot someone, it seems to be, the suspect. And the suspect is on the way to the hospital".
Trump stated he knew nothing about the identity or motives of the person shot, but admitted the suspect was armed. "It might not have had anything to do with me," Trump added, saying the incident took place "on the outside" of the White House premises.
