Court summons Rajen Gohain in rape case

A Nagaon District and Sessions Judge Court Wednesday summoned Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain, to appear before it on January 8, in a case related to sexual harrasement.

A case has been registered against Gohain under section 417 (Punishment for cheating), 376 (Punishment for rape) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC.

Earlier on November 20, the Nagaon court has directed to start the trial of Rajen Gohain's rape case (Minister of State for Railways) in Nagaon court. Nagaon police submitted in a written paper to the court of a mutual understanding with the two parties in the case. However, the court has excluded the report of Nagaon police.

Interestingly, Gohain had also filed complaints of blackmailing against the woman and her family.
