Dibrugarh Jail Turns into COVID-19 Hotspot

Dibrugarh Central Jail has turned out to be another COVID-19 Hotspot of Assam with more than 100 prisoners and jail staff having tested positive for COVID-19 in a single day.

Almost 90 percent of those who tested COVID-19 positive were all prisoners under trial who were mostly asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic and have been shifted to COVID Care Centers.

The health department had carried out a rapid antigen testing drive and tested 256 samples of which 114 were positive, at the Dibrugarh Central Jail.
