DIGBOI | IOC Contractual Workers Stage Protest

The AOD fraternity at Digboi on Sunday celebrated the Indian Oil Day, 2019 with a day-long agenda amidst huge cheers and applause.

However, the contractual employees of the Indian Oil Corporation ltd (IOCL) Digboi Refinery project staged a protest dharna in front of Oil day programme venue in presence of IOC Executive director.

The employees demanded wages as per existing norms, I-card, and security assets as well as asked for implementation of the bilateral agreement.

The day kicked off with a formal pledge-taking programme held at the Golden Jubilee Complex where employees of the corporation gathered in large numbers to pledge their commitment and dedication in the service of the tion.

The Indian Oil Company ltd (IOCl), which was established in 1959 as an oil marketing entity, was renamed as the Indian Oil Corporation ltd (IOCl) on September 1, 1964 following its merger with the Indian Refineries ltd, which had been set up in 1958. The IOCl is ranked at the 88th position in the Fortune Global-500 listing in the year 2013.
