Garchuk police arrested 7 dacoits

Garchuk police  busted a highway robbery gang and arrested seven dacoits who had looted the people  for long period.

Police have  recovered an i10 bearing number(As 01 5898), gold ornaments, many bike keys,weapons in possession from them.

According to the reports, the robbery gang involved several incidents of looting people.It is also reported that the gang had looted the house of retd. colonel Kashung Suleman on 15 March.

Following a tip-off, a police team of Garchuk police station headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police(ACP) Pranjal Bora launched an operation at Baksa, Shimala and many areas of Guwahati.

The arrested dacoits were identified as Gumsher Basumatary and Mahanta Brahma of Baksa district, Ganesh lama from Garchuk, Shankar Karmakar from Nagaon, Rantu Barman hailing from Bhabanipur, and Ankur Rabha from Kalaigaon.
