Lat Mandal caught red handed taking bribe

In a move to check corruption in government offices of Assam, police today arrested a Lat Mandal red handed while accepting bribe in Guwahati.

The incident took place in Dispur Revenue circle office when the Mandal was caught taking a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a woman.

The arrested Mandal is Syed Intaruddin Ahmed.

He was caught taking bribe from a woman named Panchami Tumung of Birkuchi in assurance of providing her land registration. He has also been accused of demanding a huge amount for completing the work, out of which the woman was paying Rs 40,000 when he was apprehended red handed.

Ahmed is the Mandal of 1 No. Mathghoriya, 2 No. Mathghoriya, Birkuchi and Noonmati.
