MGVK Bhanu likely to contest LS polls

Senior IAS officer-cum- Ex.Additional Chief Secretary of Assam MGVK Bhanu earlier said in a video that he would join public life after retirement.

According to sources, Bhanu is a strong contender to contest in upcoming Lok Sabha election from Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency.

On Sunday, surprisingly Bhanu met former chief minister of Assam-cum- founder of Asom Gana Parishad Prafulla Kumar Mahanta. After his meeting with AGP leader PK Mahanta, more curiosity arises as he earlier said that he would join public life after retirement.

Few days ago, Bhanu said to media that he would stay in Tezpur after his retirement.
It may be mentioned that Bhanu has a special relation with Tezpur. He did many developmental works during his posting at Tezpur.

As per sources, Bhanu is likely to replace BJP MP RP Sharma.

Known for his activeness and strong personality as a bureaucrat, Bhanu strongly slammed many corrupt subordinates by issuing suspension orders.
