Mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa to get National Adventure Award

India's highest adventure award 'Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award' to be conferred to Indian mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa of Arunachal Pradesh on September 25 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.

President Ram Nath Kovind will confer the prestigious award.

Anshu Jamsenpa is the second woman in the world to scale the summit of Mount Everest twice in a season. It is also the fastest double ascents of the tallest crest by a woman.

The Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award is the highest national recognition for outstanding achievements in the field of adventure on land, sea and air. A cash Award of Rs.5.00 lakh and a certificate of honour is given to each Awardee. This Award is at par with the Arjuna Award for sporting excellence. Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards are conferred by the Hon'ble President of India, along with Arjuna Awards, in Rashtrapati Bhavan.
