Acclaimed actor Adil Hussain has urged the Assam Government through a tweet to grant  Rs 5 crore for the promotion of Rima Das' film Village Rockstars ahead of the Oscar.

"The governments have so much money to promote themselves putting posters all across! After selecting Village Rockstars, jury says there's acute lack of funds to promote film at Oscars," tweeted Adil. Many renowned actors of Bollywood supported Adil's tweet.

Village Rockstar has made its official entry to the Oscars from India in the Best Foreign Language film category on  sept 22.

After selecting Village Rockstars, jury said that  there's acute lack of funds to promote film at Oscars.
