Pratidin Bureau

Kerala state BJP president PS Sreedhar Pillai will be sworn in as the new governor of Mizoram on November 5, officials sources said on Tuesday.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Raj Bhavan in Aizawl and oath of affirmation will be administered by Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Ajay Lamba or his representative, the sources said.

Pillai is likely to arrive in Aizawl on November 4 to attend the swearing-in ceremony, sources said.

The Centre on Friday appointed Pillai as the new governor of Mizoram to replace Prof Jagdish Mukhi, the governor of Assam holding the top post in Mizoram on additional charge. He is the third man from Kerala to become Mizoram governor after Kummanam Rajashekaran and Vakkom Purushothaman.
