Prez Kovind, Assam CM discuss flood, COVID-19 scenario

President Ram Nath Kovind and Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal discussed several crises pertaining to the state on Friday.

The president over a telephone conversation with the CM took stock of the current flood situation, landslides, coronavirus pandemic, Baghjan well-capping operation and African swine fever.

In such trying and distressful times, the president has assured the chief minister of complete assistance and support to the state's citizens.

Meanwhile, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu extended his condolences to the loss of lives due to floods in the state. Taking it to Twitter, he said, "My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I am sure the authorities in the state are doing their best to provide relief and succour to the affected people".
