INX Media: Indrani ‘Pardoned’ in CBI Charge-sheet

IndraniMukerjea will not be tried in the INX Media corruption case involving PChidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram. A charge-sheet filed by the CBIbefore a special court in Delhi, listed Indrani as an accused, who has turnedapprover and pardoned.

Itmay be mentioned here that a Delhi court in July had accepted Indrani's plea toturn approver in the INX Media case.

Indranihad claimed that she has paid USD 5 million as bribe to P Chidambaram, who wasthe Finance Minister at the time. The bribe was paid to allegedly receiveforeign investment clearances.

However,the Senior Congress leader has denied ever meeting Indrani Mukerjea and anywrongdoing in the case which he says is politically motivated.
