Very Severe Cyclonic Storm 'Hamoon' over coastal Bangladesh weakened into Deep Depression over southeast Bangladesh and adjoining Mizoram on Wednesday.

It is very likely to move northeast wards and weaken further into a depression and into a well-marked low-pressure area during the subsequent six hours, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in a report.

Meanwhile, IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall at isolated places in parts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till October 26, 2023.

However, the principal agency responsible for meteorological observations further predicted dry weather for the entire Northeastern region from October 27, 2023 onwards.
