Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s name surfaces in ABP News’ ‘Operation Dalal’

National Hindi news channel ABP NEWS on Tuesday aired 'Operation Dalal', a news report, that exposed a certain raid by Income tax department on May 27 at Delhi based middleman and power broker Anuj Poddar's house.

Much to Assam's horror, the ABP news report revealed hidden relation between Anuj Poddar and Assam BJP Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

According to the ABP news reporter, the income tax department found some important documents related to defence and external affairs ministry at Anuj Poddar's residence during the raid.

The income tax department also found details of close relation between Anuj Poddar and Himanta Biswa Sarma. Various tender and projects between Poddar and Sarma came to light during the raid, the report revealed.

Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti leader Akhil Gogoi said Himanta Biswa Sarma is one of the most corrupted people and everyone is aware of it. The illegal deals and projects between Poddar and Sarma is a very serious issue and thoroughly investigated.

According to the news report, Poddar also maintains a good relation with a number of other powerful and prominent ministers. Following the news report, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has demanded for a proper investigation in the case.

However, Himanta Biswa Sarma denied having any contact or ever knowing anyone with the name of Anuj Poddar.
