On visiting India, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed grief on the onion crisis in her country after India banned the export of onions. Speaking at the India-Bangladesh Business Forum in Delhi, Hasina even said that she has asked her cook not to use onions in her food.
"We are facing a crisis on the onion issue. I don't know why you have banned onion export. Maine cook ko bol diya ab se khana mein pyaaz bandh kardo," the Bangladeshi PM said while speaking at the event.

It may be mentioned here that amid the rising priceof the onion, Narendra Modi-led BJP government on September 29 prohibited theexport of all varieties of onion all over the world.
