Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has announced on Thursday that Reliance is India's largest taxpayer in the private sector, recounting the company's Goods and Services Tax, Excise and Customs Duty, and Income Tax payments.
Speaking at the Reliance Industries' 41st Annual General Meeting on July 05, Ambani proceeded to say that Jio's subscriber count had risen from 124 million at the end of last year to 210 million at the end of FY18. He added that Jio is devoted to making India one of the top 5 broadband countries of the world.
He also added that Jio is India's only mobile video network and that there are more than 25 million JioPhone users in India.
In the event, Mukhesh Ambani's daughter Isha Ambani has announced the launch of JioPhone 2. The new JioPhone 2 is expected to hit the stores by August 16 2018 which will cost Rs 2999.
