Bhupen Kumar Borah Appointed New President Of Assam Congress

In a latest update, Bhupen Kumar Borah has been appointed as the President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Saturday.

A senior Congress leader, Bhupen Kumar Borah was an electoral candidate from the Bihpuria constituency in the 2021 Assam Assembly elections. 

Moreover, the All India Congress Committee has appointed state party leaders Rana Goswami, North Karimganj MLA Kamalakhya Dev Purkayastha, and Sarukhetri MLA Jakir Hussain Sikdar as working presidents of APCC.

An official notification of AICC acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing president of APCC President Ripun Bora.

Bora had quit as Assam Congress Chief on May 2 after the party lost miserably at the Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, Bhupen Bora and Rana Goswami have been relieved from their responsibilities as AICC Secretaries.
