Amidst the tranquil hills of Meghalaya, the 12th Annual Principals’ Conference of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Silchar Region commenced with dignity and fervour at La Nicholas Dei Da Kine Resort, Shillong. The three-day conference aimed to foster leadership, collaboration, and innovation among school heads of Kendriya Vidyalayas under the region.

The inaugural session was graced by the presence of Deputy Commissioner (DC), KVS Silchar Region, PIT Raja, along with Assistant Commissioners A.K. Seet and Satyaveer Singh. Their presence reaffirmed the administration’s continued commitment to educational excellence and transformational learning across the region's KVs.

The proceedings began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, a symbolic gesture representing the triumph of knowledge over ignorance. This was followed by a soulful welcome song and an enlivening Nepali folk dance presented by the students of PM SHRI KV NEPA, Barapani, earning warm appreciation from the attendees.

A felicitation ceremony was held to honour the distinguished dignitaries, where they were presented with badges, floral bouquets, traditional Assamese Gamosas, and mementoes as tokens of respect and gratitude.

Setting the tone for the conference, a welcome address was delivered by Respected Khumba Sir, who emphasised the importance of unity, shared vision, and regional collaboration in driving educational progress.

The highlight of the inaugural session was the Keynote Address by the Deputy Commissioner, who spoke compellingly about the urgent need for progressive school leadership, digital integration, and a student-centric approach to pedagogy, particularly within the educational framework of the Northeast.

The conference then transitioned into its core academic agenda, beginning with detailed deliberations on the Rupantar Progress Sessions. These sessions focused on evaluating and strategising the implementation of the Rupantar initiative, which aims to bring systemic reforms and innovation in Kendriya Vidyalayas. Principals actively participated in case studies, reflective dialogues, and collaborative planning exercises to enhance institutional performance and future-readiness.
