Akshay Kumar Breaks 18-Years of Rule To Complete His Film

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is working extra hard for his film Bell Bottom who is currently shooting in Scotland to make up for the lost time spent due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Akshay, who is known for his discipline and work ethics has broken his 18-year rule of working for 8 hours and is now working in double shifts to ensure that the work of the film finishes in time and producers could save money as the film is running behind schedule.

Bell Bottom is among the first Bollywood films to resume shooting after months of halt on film production due to the coronavirus pandemic. The team reached Scotland recently and had to quarantine for 14 days before kick-starting shoot. Akshay realised the financial hit the producers would have to take given the huge size of the unit and decided to work in double shift. Two simultaneous units are working to ensure that the shoot gets completed in scheduled time.

The unit has been shooting simultaneously with the local teams in double shifts making it the first film of its kind post lockdown.

Talking about the shooting format, producer Jackky Bhagnani while quoted by India Today said, "Akshay sir is truly a producer's actor and it has been a privilege to work with him. He is constantly thinking about everyone and everything. From safety measures for the entire unit to shooting schedules to the challenges faced by producers – the man is pure gold. Akshay sir is doing a double shift for the first time in 18 years. So when he suggested two units we were absolutely stunned and excited at the same time. And seeing his work discipline and respect for time, everyone on the sets is super energised and also pitching in their best. It's like well-oiled machinery working round the clock to make this happen."

Apart from Akshay Kumar, Bell Bottom also stars Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Adil Hussain, and Huma Qureshi. The film is directed by Ranjit M Tewari. It is a spy thriller, set to release on April 2, 2021.
