Avengers: Infinity War breaks a number of records to become biggest opening day earner in India

The much awaited latest release from Marvel's Avenger series, Avengers: Infinity War has become the highest earning movie on the first day of release in India beating movies like Padmaavat, Baaghi 2 and others.

The Russo brothers' directional earned Rs 40.13 crore at the Indian box-office on day one itself, beating Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi 2 and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's controversial movie Padmaavat which had earnings of Rs 25.10 crore and Rs 19 crore, respectively.

The movie's trailer too received massive response from India and worldwide with 177 million views on YouTube. The craze left by the trailers helped the movie open to an overwhelming response, especially in India, with the movie being screened over 2000 screens and trending all over social media and search engines.

Avengers: Infinity War also surpassed Fast and Furious 7 to become the highest Hollywood opening day earner in India. On its release in 2015, Fast and Furious 7 netted a little over Rs 12 crore.
