Before diving into the fresh political chaos of Season 4, here’s a quick recap of everything that went down in Panchayat Season 3.

What Is Panchayat All About?

For the uninitiated, Panchayat follows Abhishek Tripathi, a young engineering graduate who, in the absence of better opportunities, takes up a government job as a Panchayat Secretary in the fictional village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh. What begins as a stopgap job becomes a life-altering journey filled with quirky villagers, unpredictable politics, and unexpected emotional ties.

Panchayat Season 3: Major Plot Points

Season 3 of Panchayat elevated both its political intrigue and emotional depth, with key events setting the stage for the high-stakes drama expected in Season 4.

1. Abhishek’s Transfer and Return

The season begins with Abhishek (Sachiv ji) being transferred to Bhayapur, prompting him to consider quitting his job altogether. However, after corrupt MLA Chandrakishore Singh is arrested, Abhishek’s transfer is cancelled, and he returns to Phulera. The villagers are relieved, but the calm is short-lived.

2. Rising Tensions Over Government Schemes

Back in Phulera, Pradhan ji (played by Raghubir Yadav) blocks the newly appointed secretary from taking charge. Soon, trouble brews when Bhushan accuses the Pradhan of partiality in the PM Awas Yojana allotments, citing skewed beneficiary distribution. To defuse the situation, Abhishek reluctantly approves a questionable case — a decision that only adds fuel to the fire.

3. Bhushan and MLA Singh’s Alliance

Sensing an opportunity, Bhushan joins forces with the recently bailed MLA Chandrakishore Singh, escalating village unrest. Their attempt at reconciliation backfires when Singh kills a symbolic pigeon during a peace offering, further damaging his public image. He is then advised to sell his prized horse to quell animal cruelty allegations.

4. CAT Exam and Gunfire

While Abhishek is in Kanpur, appearing for his CAT exam, masked assailants open fire at the local bus stand. Pradhan ji is gravely injured, shaking the entire village. Abhishek rushes back, confronts Singh’s henchmen, and gets arrested in the process, leaving viewers on a cliffhanger.

What to Expect in Season 4

With the fierce Phulera Panchayat elections around the corner, Panchayat Season 4 is poised to be the most politically charged yet. The rivalry between Manju Devi (Neena Gupta) and Kranti Devi (Sunita Rajwar) promises power struggles, shifting loyalties, and perhaps some long-awaited romantic development between Abhishek and Rinki (Sanvikaa).
